Today is One Flower Wednesday , one of my favorite days of the week.  Karen at "Journey of a Quilter" encourages us to make our garden grow by posting what we’ve done each week.  Here are 2 more for me:

After Thanksgiving Giveaway

Doing “all in the name of the Lord Jesus” means bringing honor to Christ in every aspect and activity of daily living.  As a Christian, you represent Christ at all times—wherever you go and whatever you say.  What impression do people have of Christ when they see or talk with you?  What changes would you make in your life in order to honor Christ?

I have received a Candle Mat from my partner in the "Christmas Candle Mat 2011."  Well, not only did I receive the Candle Mat, but a whole bunch of other goodies from Laura.  Just look at this:

There are ornaments:  2 cute candy canes,  a funny little snowman, and another snowman painted and signed by Laura herself,  5 little hand-sewn snowballs and one larger snowball.

There are two candles, one with a hand-sewn cover that wraps around it and another little snowball-looking one.

And then there is the gorgeous candlemat, also hand-sewn with colorful mittens all around it.  Oh, and a pendant/pin made of glass pieces, rather funky but so cute.  I’m wearing it today .

Grant us on this Thanksgiving Day the time to reflect on all the ways you have blessed each of us who has gathered. Increase our understanding of your ways, defeat us when we use our blessings for selfish gain, and remind us to love one another.

Thank you for providing all that we need for life and godliness. Make us to be a light and a blessing to the nations of the world. We acknowledge you as the only true and living God.

We pray this in the name of your Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

To all my blogging friends:  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I am thankful for your friendship today and every day.  My husband and I will be spending Thanksgiving at my sister’s home today along with my parents, my other sister and her son and daughter, and of course, my sister’s family.  I made this little turkey hanging for my sister.  I made one for myself as well.  Maybe we’ll be able to make a mini-quilt to hang on our hanger each month…hum, Ida?

One-Flower Wednesday and My Jane I-10

What a great verse — God delights in blessing you! He doesn’t want you thinking you deserve to be punished or that you bother Him when you ask for His help. No, He wants you to continually remind yourself that it’s His pleasure to bless you. If you’ll believe this and begin to live this way, it will change your life!

Yay!  Today is One Flower Wednesday  and here are my flowers.

Another of “My Jane” blocks.  Here is I-10.  This was paper-pieced and appliqués.  Easy to do but time-consuming.

Old and New

"A Peach in Stitches" is having a giveaway whereas you post pictures of your "Old and New" fabrics.  Well, my oldest fabric are the pieces of flannel that I bought to make pajamas for my oldest son when he was 4 years old.  He is now 44 years old so this fabric is 40 years old.  I must have bought LOTS of this fabric since I made the pjs and still have about 2 yards of the stripe and a yard of the print  left even after using pieces to make little flannel baby blanket backs throughout the years. 

 My newest fabrics are 3 pieces large enough to make 3 aprons.  I even have the pattern and plan to get to this project sometime during my vast amounts of free time…

One-Flower Wednesday and My Jane H-4

We’re back in El Paso now.  It’s always wonderful to be home, no matter how much fun you had while you were away.  It’s great to be back in my sewing room.  I did manage to sew a few of “My Jane” blocks on our 6 ½ hour road trip.  Here is H-4.  This was really easy paper-piecing and then appliqué diamond in center.

I’m still working on Mama’s Christmas quilt.  I have finished quilting it and am now going to sew something on the edge of it so it can be used as a bedspread.  I’m off to the fabric store with my sister today to find some fabric.  She stopped by last evening for a while and we had a wonderful visit making up for the month we’ve spent apart.

It’s One Flower Wednesday .  The blue flower with the orangey-looking center looks awful in the photo but it is really pretty in “real life.”
