One Flower Wednesday in West Texas

Encouraging Words of the Day:

The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. ~ Psalm 103:8, NLT

Is it "One-Flower Wednesday" already? Time flies, doesn't it? Well here are my flowers.

We returned to El Paso from the Hill Country to find some goodies in the mailbox. Some time back I won these pre-cut hexagons. They are beautiful print and rainbow fabrics called "Rain" that I won from a giveaway hosted by Jessica from "Life Under Quilts." Thanks so much, Jessica. I will definitely put these hexies to good use :) I can't wait to get started.

That is all.

One Flower Wednesday in the Texas Hill Country

Encouraging Words of the Day:

"I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid. ~ John 14:27, NLT

We're in the Texas Hill Country. Crazy weather here as I know it's been in most areas. It will be Spring soon but it doesn't look like it around here. Yesterday was a beautiful 81 degrees but today is cold and windy again. As I said before, crazy weather. Nonetheless, here are some flowers I sewed on the way out here for "One-Flower Wednesday."

It seems like I do best sewing these flowers while on a road trip. Driving across west Texas is boring at best since it is desert land for about 3 1/2 hours before we reach the beginning of the Hill Country. The speed limit is 80 miles per hour since all you do is drive straight. The biggest danger is running into another vehicle or falling asleep from sheer boredom so that's when we listen to audio books while my husband drives and I sew. I actually sewed more flowers but I'm saving the rest for another day :)

That is all.

One Flower Wednesday

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! ~ Psalm 66:5, NLT

"One-Flower Wednesday" is here and two half-inch flowers are below:

Also completed are two flowers for my partner in the "Inchy-Hexagon Flower Swap." She asked for purple and/or dark red petals and centers so "here you go...." I hope she likes my efforts.

I recently entered a giveaway and won this darling pincushion from Karen at "The Selvage Blog." Karen also included some matching pins and the box she mailed it in was even color and theme coordinated! Thanks, Karen.

That is all.

House Quilt and True One Flower Wednesday

Encouraging Words of the Day:
The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. ~ Psalm 34:17, NLT
I call today "True One-Flower Wednesday" because one flower is all I got done. I decided that once-and-for-all I was going to finish my "House Quilt" so that's what I did. Mind you, these blocks are from a BOM I participated in in 2011. The other blocks I won in a "Neighborhood Party" that Beth from Love,Laugh,Quilt
hosted in 2012. So finally I got that done.
My blogging friend, Julie, teases me because I always make more than one flower for "One-Flower Wednesday." Well, not today because here is one lonely little flower, #184.
