Garden BOM Linky Party

Encouraging Words of the Day:

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. - Romans 5:8 (NLT)

Doing a quick blog post today so I can link up with the Garden BOM Link Party Blocks 3 and 4.

My sister Lynette who blogs at "and the little sister follows," and I joined this BOM together and are enjoying these blocks tremendously. We can’t wait to get started on the April blocks.

Here’s what I’ve done:

Happy Easter!

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb... They found the stone rolled away and when they went in, they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them and said, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen!" (Luke 24:1-6)

Anthea's Piece Yourself Together

Once again I find myself rushing to make it to Anthea’s "Piece Yourself Together" linky at "Hibiscus Stitches." I’ve been sewing hexie flowers like crazy and have these to show you that I've received.

These were received from a swap I found on Facebook where hexie flowers are traded all over the world..

I've been busily making followers to in return as well send as well.

Neighborhood Block Party Winners

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Many thanks to all of you who joined the "Neighborhood Block Party." We loved having you and enjoyed seeing all of your blocks. We received 5 extra house blocks from you for the charity quillt which Ida from " My Sister Made Me Do It..." is busily sewing up along with some orphan blocks. I can't wait to see what she comes up with. Ida is always so creative so I know it will be beautiful.
Speaking of which, I can't wait to see what our winners come up with using their 12 house blocks. Yes, we had several participants in the Block Party, enough that our 2 winners have won 12 blocks each. SO, the winners, chosen randomly by writing their names down on little pieces of paper, shaking up this little box, and
Voila!
The winners are Maria from Australia and Coralie from Canada. Congratulations! Please email me with your mailing address and the blocks will be flying off to you.
That is all.

Week 6 of Alsha's Word Photo Challenge

It’s week #6 of Alsha’s Word Photo Challenge. The word of the week is “ice cream.”

My husband and I are on a diet and have been good for 2 whole days but then, I had to take the “ice cream” photo and we kind of fell off the wagon.

Check out other’s “ice cream” photographs. Click here.

Neighborhood Block Party Houses

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Block houses for the Neighborhood Block Party continue to arrive. Just look at these beauties!

Coralie sent this pretty little house with those cuties peeking out of the windows. Love that roof!

This pretty house if from Lynette. Look at those swirly walls, looks like creative stucco. And is that an Angel at that window? Interesting sky.
The next house was made by Sara. What a creative use of fabric! That looks like the vines I have growing on my actual house.
Another creative use of fabric in Jennifer's house below, with a button door knob. I like that wonky red tree that seems to be swaying in the wind.
Danette sent the next house. It never ceases to amaze me the way different fabrics can be used. Every wall in this house is different and the effect is so pretty. Look at the sky too. Why do I always think I have to find blue fabric for my sky? It looks like it's snowing in this scene.
Look at the seamstress standing in the doorway of Ruth's house. I love her pincushion hat.
Jinnie sent in this house. It looks like a beach house. You can't see it too well from the photo, but that's a rose bush growing in front of the house, pretty roses in that fabric.

Ruth also sent in this house. You can almost hear the music, what with the girl playing the tambourine and that gentleman playing the piano. You can actually see those music notes coming out of the walls and roof.
Teagan sent this pretty red polka-dotted house. I like the cloud effect with the blue fabric in the sky.
Here's another pretty sky in Sue's block. Such a pretty sky above some cute apartment houses.
Sue actually sent in 3 house blocks. This sky has some golden sparkles which don't show up well in the photo but they actually make it look like a starry sky. What a pretty winter scene this is, down to the adorable snowman.
This last house block from Sue is a beautiful Victorian-like house, just look at the beautiful, lacy roof edges. And then there's that pretty little doggy beside the house...
There's still a couple of days before the drawing so if you haven't seen your house, (I have previously posted pictures of houses if yours isn't in today's posting.) maybe it's still making it's way to my mailbox. Coralie (first house above) was commenting that it had taken a month for her house to get from Canada to Texas since I just received it on Friday. Please let me know if you've mailed your house block and haven't seen it posted.
That is all.

Birthday Goodies

Encouraging Words of the Day:

I will not let you fall, for I am watching over you night and day. - Psalm 121:3

And my birthday happened. I had a wonderful time with family and friends. I was so excited when my sister Ida who blogs at “my sister made me do it” made this beautiful wall hanging for me. She knows how much I love our little ranch and hunting feral hogs. Look at this gorgeous wall hanging with a perfect accompaniment, another hog ! Thanks, Ida.

My other sister, Lynette, who blogs at “…and the little sister follows” made this gorgeous fabric cross for my birthday. Thanks so much, Lynn. You are so creative.

Oh, and speaking of feral hogs above, since we were recently at the ranch hunting feral hogs, I managed to take one down.

That is all.

Hexies for "Piece Yourself Together"

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Though the mountains vanish, My unending love will never leave you. – Isaiah 54:10

We just got back to El Paso after being at the ranch for two weeks. I sewed a few half-inch hexie flowers together on our trip out here. This project is coming together a little bit at a time. There are now 126 flowers sewn together and the piece measures 36 X 46 inches. Now I need to cut out more shapes for the green spacers.

In the meantime, I’ve made these flowers for my swap partner in the “Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap.”

I’m linking this post up to Anthea’s "Piece Yourself Together" linky at "Hibiscus Stitches." Click here to see what others are doing with their hexies.
That is all.

Alsha’s Word Photo Challenge – Week 5

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. - Matthew 7:7 (NLT)

The word of the week in Alsha’s 52 Word Photo Challenge linky is “heat.” We’ve had beautiful days at the ranch. The days have started out overcast and in the high 40s but by noon, the clouds are gone and the days are in the 70s. Lovely days. We’ve been going out hunting feral hogs and I took this photo of the sun setting. This gorgeous picture of the sun done with it' job of heating up the sky in our part of the world is my photo of “heat.”

Click here to see photos other's have taken to depict "heat."

Neighborhood Block Party Ends on March 15

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

For some reason, I’m having the hardest time blogging. I was doing pretty good blogging every two weeks in order to participate in Anthea’s “Piece Yourself Together” linky party but then I missed the last one. So I then decided to join Alsha in her Word-Photo-Challenge-2016 linky. So far, I’ve linked up once. I have taken the photos but not written up the blog post to accompany the photo. So….

Well, I have been sewing houses like crazy for the “Neighborhood Block Party.” That must be why I’m not blogging, I’m sewing. We’ve been receiving block houses and then I took a trip to our ranch. I’m thinking my mailbox is going to be full of house blocks when I return home on March 7th. In the meantime, I received these gorgeous blocks from Sharon, one for the party and one for the charity quilt. I love how she used the plaids, striped and checkered fabrics in her blocks. Pretty wonky houses and cute square trees. WTG, Sharon.

You still have a little time to join us as we will be drawing the winner(s) on March 15th. Depending on the number of entry blocks waiting in my mailbox, there will be one or two winners. Click here or on the photo below to get more information about the “Neighborhood Block Party.” The next winner could be you!

That is all.
