Hands 2 Help Linky

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Once again it's "Hands 2 Help" time. Time to work on charity quilts.  Sara at "Confessions of a Fabric Addict" is once again hosting this event. Please click on the photo before for more information.

Below are 2 of the quilts I've made as my contribution. Yes, these are 2 quilts, not 2 photos of the same quilt.  I had lots of fan blocks made by my mother-in-law that were just waiting for me to sew them together into these 2 quilts. If you look carefully, you will see that they are, indeed, 2 different quilts.

I turned them in different directions so you can see that they are different :)

These will be going to "Happy Chemo" to be donated to people undergoing chemotherapy.

That is all.

New Quiltalong Blocks

Remember the Quiltalong I told you about? It's the one Alida is hosting called "Growing Up Quiltalong 2017."  Each month we learn a different technique. This month we're learning traditional piecing with a focus on half-square triangles.  Here are mine:
Alida provides a linky where we can show-off our blocks. Click here to see what others have made with their half-square triangles. That is all.

Piece Yourself Together Linky

Encouraging Words of the Day:

Work continues on my half-inch hexie project. There are now 263 hexies sewn together. The project measures approximately 46 x 53 inches, a decent throw, but I would like to make it actual quilt-sized.  Onward I go with my sewing.
I'm linking up with Anthea's "Piece Yourself Together" linky. Click on photo to take you to Anthea's blog where you can seee what others are doing with their hexies.   Well, never mind. Click on the the blue words above and it might take you to Anthea's blog which is: http://hibiscus-stitches.blogspot.com/2017/01/getting-back-into-it-or-trying-to-anyway.html  in case that link doesn't work either.  I'm trying to figure out how to use this app to post to my blog from my ipad. As you can see, I haven't figured it out yet.
That is all.

What? Texas is supposed to have mild winters.

Encouraging Words of the Day:
It is SO cold. Texas is supposed to have mild winters, especially West Texas or South Texas, for crying out loud! Anyway, I've joined a quilt-along I ran into at Alida's blog, called "Growing Up Quillt-Along 2017."  Each block willl teach a different technique.  Click here to learn more. Sounds like exactly what I need.  The first block is raw-edge appliqué and here's mine.
This was fun to make and not as difficult as it looks. It makes me wonder if maybe I did something wrong.  I'm off to Alida's linky. You can click the link to see what others have done with their first block.

That is all.
