More Pincushions to add to my Pincushion Parade

My sisters and I are so excited about the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade which will be from June 8-20. The thing is, making pincushions is addictive. Every time I make one, I say it will be the last one.  Well...I decided to try to make a smaller biscornu pincushion from a paper-pieced star.  Here it is:

Then my sister from "...and the little sister follows" got hooked on sewing pincushions and sent these to me to add to my Pincushion Parade.  I love the tomato pincushion. The yellow fabric is gorgeous.  And the little pincushion is one she made from crochet.  It's a little flower.  And look at the cute card she made and included.  Thanks, Lynette. These will definitely be in my Pincushion Parade.

OMG! What a wonderful day when I went to the mailbox in town and received this pincushion from my sister.  This beautiful little hog will be leading my Pincushion Parade when I enter the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade which will run from June 8-19. Thanks, Ida.

Thursday at the Ranch

The Little Lambs quilts are finally done. Since I'm still sheltering at the ranch with my small stash, it took me a little while to find some batting and backing but that's done and here are the quilts ready for the Hands2Help charity quilts sponsored by Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

And, I continue preparations for the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade by making pincushions since I don't have many at the ranch.  In the process, I found this cute, cute pattern for Little Houses Pincushions and made several. 

There might actually be enough pincushions there for my daughter, my sisters, and my niece. Don't forget to start getting your pincushions together so you can join the Pincushion Parade.

Two Little Lambs Quilts in the Making

Here I am again.  Yes, yes, I’m as surprised as you are.  Now I’ve found where Sara from Confessions ofa Fabric Addict Blog is again hosting a quilting charity challenge.  

She lists five charities that one can choose to make a quilt for. You can choose one or all of them, your choice. I have elected to make two quilts for the “Little Lambs Foundation.” They are in need of baby quilts so I’m busily sewing on two.  My friend gave me the fabric. There were 18 little blocks of the Sunflower Girl and Boy. I split them up into 9 for each quilt.  This is what I have so far:

I still need to quilt and bind and then they’ll be ready to send.

Hello from a remote place in Texas

Hello Everyone,
Yes, I'm still around although right now I'm sheltering in place in our little ranch in a remote place in Texas. Our ranch is located 12 miles outside of a little town of 1000 people somewhere in the Hill Country so we're pretty isolated.  While in isolation, I've spent part of my time working on a Village. Moda Fabrics did a wonderful thing for us while we're staying home. They made the Village pattern from Miss Rosie's Quilt Company available for free!  How great is that?  You can download it on their website at:

The most tedious part was cutting out the pieces but the sewing went really fast.  Here's what I did:

There are 132 little houses. While I was on a roll making little houses, I made 2 more and turned them into potholders for a swap I'm in.  

Now that I've to my feet wet blogging again, I guess I'll continue because I hear there is a Pincushion Parade coming up soon. Remember that from other years?  So I guess the next project I'll be showing you will contain pincushions.  Check with me again soon for more info on the Pincushion Parade. See you soon :)

Hands2Help 2018 Charity Quilts

Hello All!
It's that time of year again, that time when we link up our charity quilts for Hands2Help. I've again made two quilts for 

Emily of Em's Scrap Bag who is collecting quilts to be donated to people undergoing chemotherapy.  This has been a favorite charity for the Challenge participants since the second year, and a whole lot of love and comfort has gone to them in the form of quilts over the past six years.  Quilty Hugs gives quilts to cancer patients through the Rack Pack, Primary Children's Hospital, and various chemo labs.  They are given to the patient for their own personal use. These are the two quilt I've made this year.

Half Inch Hexie Quilt Progress

Hello All!
Today I've given up blogging from my iPad and am using my trusty old laptop (remember I told you that lightening took out my good laptop?)

I continue to hand-sew my little 1/2-inch hexies together into a quilt top.  I now have 330 hexie flowers sewn together, measuring about 51" x 54".
