Hilachas is the Spanish word for those little loose threads that fall all over the floor and sewing area as you finish sewing and snip the tail end of the thread off the sewn area. So does this blog entail the odds and ends of topics of interest, leaving more loose threads to ponder...
I admire you for joining and actually sewing the block! I joined the last quilt along from Moose on the Porch, but never made any of the blocks, LOL. Oh well, at least I have everything saved on my computer in case I ever get to it. I think your block looks very nice. As a fairly new quilter, I feel your pain about everything not lining up quite right, but hey, who really knows or cares, but us, if it's not perfect?
I went to that website on the layer cake quilting and got nervous just looking at the directions! You actually made the square! I love how your blog is coming along.....I was pleasantly surprised to see so many new blog entries since my last time here. :)

Love the colors in your block. You were more adventurous than me - I didn't do the applique.
