Hilachas is the Spanish word for those little loose threads that fall all over the floor and sewing area as you finish sewing and snip the tail end of the thread off the sewn area. So does this blog entail the odds and ends of topics of interest, leaving more loose threads to ponder...

New Quiltalong Blocks
Remember the Quiltalong I told you about? It's the one Alida is hosting called "Growing Up Quiltalong 2017." Each month we learn a different technique. This month we're learning traditional piecing with a focus on half-square triangles. Here are mine:

Those blocks look so pretty. It sounds like learning new techniques will be a fun challenge for you this year. That's a great idea.

They look great! I hope mine turn out alright. I do have trouble with those corners meeting up right.
Lovely blocks! The flowered fabric in the top one is great. Right now I am wishing I had access to more quilt shops as I search for the right fabric for my hexie quilt border.
