Sewing in the Hill Country Again

Encouraging words of the day:
Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful.
~ Proverbs 16:20, NLT

Wow.  I haven’t blogged in a week .  Yes, I’ve been busy.  We took another road trip to visit our son in north Texas and had a terrific weekend.  Then the drive back to the ranch on Monday and then another road trip tomorrow on our way back to west Texas.  I,  of course, had my hand-sewing available.  I’ve been crocheting a baby afghan for my godson and wife who are waiting for a February arrival.  Yesterday I spent a large part of the day doing prep work for “My Jane” blocks that I can work on when we are in California at the end of the month.

And, ta da… today is One Flower Wednesday  and here are my flowers.  I sewed them up with the odd petals I have and I’m happy with the way they turned out.  Looks like my first GFG is going to be scrappy for sure.

Here’s the  “My Jane” blocks which I completed lately.  It was easy to sew although the colors may be too light.  But as has become my motto – “Go with it.”

Quilter in the Gap has Spice Blossom Flannel Stacks of 28, 10-inch squares to give away - ends September 15th.
"Lavendar Quilts" is giving away 3 fat quarters of fabric in blue hues which she dyes herself.  – couldn’t find an end date .
Annie's Ruby Slipperz is having a giveaway of 5 fat quarters.  - ends September 17th.
Happy Quilting is having a giveaway of a Jelly Roll and 2 1/2 yards of coordinating fabric.  – ends September 16th.
Taking The Scenic Route is having a giveaway of an acorn mat. – no end date shown.
FabricWorm is giving away  7 Fat Quarters of Timeless Treasures Organic Daisies. -  ends September 19th.

That is all.
