Just thinking...

I waited patiently for the LORD to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. ~ Psalm 40:1

I'm just thinking that I'd like to post every day but I only have 18 followers  and they mainly check in on "One Flower Wednesdays" so I'm not getting much other traffic.  I do so appreciate my "One Flower Wednesday" friends :)  I got to thinking that maybe if I host a giveaway, I'll get more followers.  But then I continued with my thinking and wondered if my giveaway would get any attention since I only have 18 people that follow me (3 are my sisters) and would know about it.  On the other hand, YOU, my good followers would have a wonderful chance of winning.  I'm still setting up my giveaway but I am definitely thinking of following through with this plan.  Details to follow in a couple of weeks or so.
Speaking of giveaways, "Simply Solids" is having a giveaway to celebrate 400+ followers, a nice bundle of 12 fat quarters.  The winner will be announced February 11.
On to other topics:  Today is finally the first time in 3 days that we've been above freezing.  The sun is finally shining today and we're back to earning our nickname of the "Sun City!"  I didn't sew at all yesterday. I mailed my 2 mug rugs for the Mug Rug Swap, mailed 2 NOOK covers I made for my sisters:

I learned on each one I made.  The first one is for my NOOK and I decided the flap on the top was too small.  The middle one was next and I was pleased with it but decided to make the last one just a little bit wider.
     That's it for today. :)

  1. I'm not a Wednesday flower person, but I am a follower. :) A giveaway does help. I have found the best way to get followers is to become a commenter. If you comment on blogs and become a follower, people usually come over to visit your blog and comment The name of your blog and the meaning drew me to your blog. It's fun to read blogs in other states. I love seeing what everyone is doing and creating.

  2. I love the Nook covers! I can tell you from experience that news of a giveaway gets around. Before I did my recent giveaway, I had 13 followers, and now I have 63! Granted, I gave people an extra entry for following, but everyone has stuck around - but it works! Also, if you had one, I would post about your giveaway :)

  3. I see you're up to 19 now, so I'll make it 20! I just started blogging a year ago, and I now have 52 folowers. I don't really care about the numbers, I'm just happy that someone actually reads and comments.

  4. Hmmm. About your thoughts. If you don't mind, I'll mention that just because someone "follows" your blog, that doesn't mean they READ it. Seeing your list of followers really is only a sort of "moral support." More than likely, the people who DO read your blog are those who are "subscribers" like me. Every blog post you make comes into my email box, so I'm sure to read it. You won't be able to tell WHO'S subscribing, but maybe if you add a subscription button (through Design, then Add a Gadget) more people will read what you have to say.

All that said... I'm hosting a giveaway! I hope you'll stop by!

  5. I think Janet and Linda have given some good pointers. I feel like I am following all the Slow Pokes as we are blogging buddys. I check regularly to see what's up and I do feel more attached to this group because it IS a GROUP.
Sometimes when I see comments to other blogs that interest me I go there and check further. I keep a list of those that speak to my heart and check them from time to time. Sometimes I look at the blogs some of my favorites are following. The "followers" list is only a number.

  6. Thanks to all of you for your helpful comments. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to give me some blogging tips. It's nice to know that I'm not on this blog all by myself, haha.

  7. I am enjoying my Nook cover. It is the perfect size and so much easier to use for carrying the Nook in my purse than my other bulkier cover. Thank you. P.S. your other projects are very nice and professional looking to me.
