Catching-up on Mail

Encouraging Words of the Day –
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in Him. – 1John 4:16 NIV

We’re back in El Paso and what a mountain of mail we had waiting for us. It was actually kind of fun because we had mail that did not include bills.  Of course, the bills were there but we had Christmas cards too and that’s always exciting.  I had a couple of surprise cards from blog friends.  Both also included a hexie flower.  So exciting!  Melody at "House on the Side of the Hill" sent a card and this gorgeous hexie mat/mug rug with a beautiful hand embroidered flower in the center.  Thanks for your generosity and kindness, Melody.

I also received this beautiful hexie flower from Shannon in Idaho. Just see how lovely the fussy cut is.  Thank you for your generosity and kindness as well, Shannon.

The next item I opened was a package from Julie Fukuda in Japan.  I was one of the winners in her Blog Hop Party giveaway.  Just look at this gorgeous panel.  It’s called a "matoi" which shows the standard and happy coat of firefighters during the Edo period.  I have already decided to use it as the center panel for the backing  on the crazy quilt I’ve been waiting to finish for a long time.  I had not been able to decide on the backing as I wanted it to be something special and this panel will be perfect.  Thanks, Julie.

Now back to the bills…

Oh, here are the giveaways I've run into:
"Marie-Madeline Studio" is giving us a chance to win a Fat Quarter bundle of Sugar Hill. – ends, ah I can’t find when it ends so hurry up and enter right away.
"Our Busy Little Bunch" is giving away 2 fat quarter bundles of Patricia Bravo's Bespoken fabric line to two people.  – ends January 15th.
"Leona's Quilting Adventure" is giving away all sorts of things to celebrate 900 followers:  Five Assorted Cuts of MODA Birdie Fabric and one Yummy Panel, by Me and My Sister Designs, Four Packages of Artgirlz Wool Felt Precuts, One Aurifil Wool Color Chart and Several Spools of Aurifil Wool Thread, One Copy of "Spring Cleaning" by Atkinson Designs. – ends January 20th.

That is all.
