Please pray for my family and friends.

Encouraging words of the day:
God is our hope and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be moved,
and though the hills be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof rage and swell,
and though the mountains shake at the tempest of the same.
There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God,
the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.--- Psalms 46: 1-4

Please pray for my family and friends who are experiencing a terrible fire in the Ruidoso Downs/Hondo Valley area of New Mexico.  Reported around 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Ruidoso Downs area, the fire has grown rapidly because of the day's sustained 40 m.p.h. winds. At last count it spanned around 6,500 acres and was completely uncontained.

I worked on my “PennyHaren Applique” block for this week.  This one was pretty easy and is called Michael Squared.

Also got my birdhouse done for the “House Block Quilt-Along.”  These house blocks have all been fun to sew.

Giveaways I've run into while checking blogs:

"Pieced on Earth" is having a giveaway of 5 fat quarters.  – ends April 7th.

"The Other Side of Me"   has two bundles of fabric to give away. – ends  April 10th.
"Bryn Alexandra" has 5 bundles of fabric to giveaway by April 10th.

"Crooked Seams"  is giving away a charm pack and a jelly roll – ends April 5th.
"Stray Stitches" is celebrating her 200th blog with a giveaway of a $25.00 gift certificate to Fat Quarter Shop!!!!!!!

Nothing is happening with my UFOs.
That is all.

So sorry to hear about those fires...I hardly turn on the TV...so this was news to me. I'll be praying for safety...and that they can be contained quickly. Love that scripture passage too...another good one is Psalm 121!

Many prayers are being sent for your family and friends. I had heard about the winds but did not know of the fire until reading your post. Here in California we experience much the same thing in the fall with the Santa Ana's. I hope they are able to get a handle on the fire soon.
Your PennyHaren block is beautiful and your bird house is adorable. You do wonderful work!!
