One-Flower Wednesday and Last Call for 200th Post Giveaway

Encouraging words of the day:
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. ~ 1 Corinthians 16:13, NLT

This day is just flying by.  Here it is 3:30 pm on  One Flower Wednesday and I’m just now preparing my 200th blog post J.  Well, yes, it’s been a long time coming.  I first posted on October 4, 2010.  And yes, time has flown.  I had not realized I had so many friends waiting for me in Blogland or I would have started a blog long before that.  Of course, long before that, I didn’t even know what a blog was.  Thanks to all of you, my dear blogging friends for making my day, every day.  I’ve learned so much from you and have enjoyed spending time with you.  Onward we go to many more visits.  Thanks for being there (here).

And what have I been so busy doing?  Well, preparing items to post today.  As I said before, it is that day when Karen from Journey of a Quilter provides a linky for One Flower Wednesday where we can share our hexagon flowers. And I, being one of the Queens of UFOs have started another UFO.  I saw this interesting photo of an optical illusion made of hexagons so off I go to create something else.  This will be my 3rd UFO involving hexagons.  Here’s my flower:

And here’s what I’m going to try to make. Yes, this is made from hexagons.
I found this in an old, old 1992 copy of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine that my Mother has.

Speaking of hexaflowers, here are two I received from my partner, Cathy, for for the "Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap" where each month we swap hexie flowers.  Here are the lovely flowers I received from Cathy from Canada.  Thanks, Cathy.

And don’t forget about my 200th Post Giveaway!   My sponsor for this giveaway is "Connecting Threads."
They have donated the entire beautiful "Sweetgrass Prairie Collection” which will be divided among 3 winners. Check it out at this link.  It ends tonight, June 6th at midnight MDT.

That is all.

  4. I think as long as you are working on a project ... even a bit at a time ... it is not a UFO, but a WIP. So enjoy all you are doing. I laugh to see what you call "old old". I've begun to see things my age described as "antique"!
