My Jane C3 and FW 5

Encouraging words of the day:
1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
   He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him. – Psalm 91 NLT

Wow, I guess I’m still in my laid back, beach mode since this is only the second time I’ve posted since we returned from the beach.  Well, there are a million things to do after you’ve been away from home for a month.  I still haven’t done much other than water my two remaining live plants (my husband takes care of the plants outdoors), and sew.  I missed my sewing machine so much that I’ve just constantly been sewing. And then, exciting things have arrived in the mail.  My big win, something I’ve been wanting to win for so long, ta da!  I won an Accuquilt Go Baby from Maureen at "Maureen Cracknell Handmade"!  Yes!  And I love it. Thanks so much Maureen.  Three dies of my choice were included so I chose the hexagon, 5”charm square, and critters.  I’ve tried them all out.  I like that I can now cut hexagons for my hexie flowers much easier and faster, the 5”charm squares are easy to cut and come out perfect, and the critters are adorable. Here is a photo of my Go Baby at work.  I’m happy.

Then, I have received a “Pay it Forward”package from Jess at "Quilty Habit.”She sewed up a beautiful tote bag for me in some of my favorite colors, along with an absolutely adorable pin cushion and some cute buttons.  Thanks, Jess.

The next block I completed on my on-going “My Jane”project is C-3.  This was really fast and easy paper-piecing.

And, yes, of course I finished a block for “My Farmer’s Wife.” This is block #5 and is called Bat Wings. It was easy to sew but I hate the colors I chose.  They seemed like they would be beautiful but as you can see…

Oh, and least I forget, today is the last block from the Penny Haren Applique Block group.  It’s called “Slashed Album”and was pretty much an ordeal to sew.

Giveaways I've run into:
"Random thoughts do or die" is having a giveaway of a Little Apples Jelly Roll. - Ends August 18th.
"Renegade Quilter" is celebrating 100+ followers with a giveaway of a  Freebird layer cake by MoMo,  a Doo Da Daisy quilt pattern by Amy Bradley Designs,  and  two wool projects from Bareroots. – ends August 19th.
"El Petit Taller" has discovered bookbinding and is offering two notebooks for her giveaway.  Two winners.  – ends August 22nd.
"Hand Quilting" is giving away a fat quarter bundle. – ends August 31st.

That is all.

Yeah on the GO win!!!! You will have fun with that one.

Your blocks all look wonderful. You have been busy sewing as well as playing catch up after being gone.

Hey that Go Baby looks really neat. I think I might think about quilting if I had a neat little machine like that :) I also really like all the blocks you have been making. I especially like the Penny Haren blocks.
