My Jane B 13 and the Texas Drought

Encouraging words of the day:
This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. ~ Psalm 118:24, NLT

I want to thank all my blogging friends for your prayers and good wishes concerning the dreadful drought in Texas.  We still wake up each day to beautiful, clear blue skies.  The photo below shows our clear blue skies and dead or dying trees.

On a happer topic:
I won. I won.  I won the giveaway at "Lilypad Quilting?  The loot is eight fat quarters of 1001 Peeps in the Dusk colorway.  The fabric is just beautiful.
Thanks, Snoodles (Jacque).

Today is the day we post our Penny Haren Applique Block of the week.  This one is called Bill's Bright Hopes.  One more block and we’re done!  Then I’ll have to figure out how I’m going to sew my blocks together.

And I did say I would post my progress on “My Jane” and “My Farmer’s Wife.”  So saying, here is

B-13 (easy paper-piecing)

And as for “My Farmer’s Wife…,” ummmmm, that will be on my next post.

Giveaways I've run into:

"Stray Stitches" is having a Blogiversary giveaway to celebrate one year of blogging.  Her giveaway includes:  a quilt pattern called “Decadence,”  2 spools of thread, a cute package of bird buttons, an autographed copy of Growing Heart, and a bundle of 7 different fall-colored fabrics.- ends August 14th.
Sew Fabulous is having an August giveaway.  You could win a Christmas Candy Fat Quarter Bundle by Doodlebug Design for Riley Blake Designs. – ends Aug 30th.

That is all.

Congratulations! With that much more fabric you might have to start working faster. Ha ha!
How I wish I could send you some rain. The storm last night came with lightening that knocked out the train service for 9 hours.

Thanks for the shout out! Sure hope you enjoy working with those pretty fabrics!
By the way, since you are working on Farmer's Wife and already are taking photos of the blocks, would you like a free trial of the OleFrogEyes software? Let me know via email, and I'll get you set up!
